
Miss Leah (BScKin) – Acro, Ballet Technique, Lyrical, Jazz, Pre-Pointe
Miss Leah has been dancing since the age of 2, training in ballet, pointe, tap, acro, jazz, lyrical, and musical theatre. While teaching dance, Miss Leah completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree at the University of Alberta. For as long as Miss Leah can remember, she has been choreographing and performing dances for her family and friends. In the various festivals Leah has attended, she has won several on-stage scholarships and awards. As a teacher, she has also received recognition at festivals for her choreography. Miss Leah has played several roles in the theatre world, including being a junior assistant director for the children’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk at the Horizon Stage, and she has danced, acted, and helped choreograph dances in her school’s Cinderella and The Aristocats musical theatre productions.
Miss Leah has always wanted to teach dance, and, at 10 years old, she was given the opportunity to assistant teach in various dance classes, and now, she is super excited to be moving into her 9th year of teaching! A memorable start to her dance teaching journey was attending a dance teacher convention in Indianapolis in 2017. Miss Leah is a certified Acrobatic Arts teacher, having completed Preschool and Module 1 Certifications. Miss Leah has also completed her Level 1 Dance Teacher & Practitioner Training at a workshop conducted by Lisa Howell, Level 1 Teacher Training in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and Module 1 in Alixa Flexibility.
Miss Leah has participated in several in-person and online dance teacher training courses and conventions with incredible dance teachers from across the world to learn even more about the broad and diverse world of dance. Miss Leah loves dancing and working with kids and is beyond excited to be sharing her passion for dance with her students! To her, it feels like an absolute dream come true!
