Miss Leah – Lyrical, Jazz, Acro, Ballet
Miss Leah has been dancing since the age of 2, training in ballet, pointe, tap, acro, jazz, lyrical, and musical theatre. While teaching dance, she has been working towards her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree at the University of Alberta. For as long as Miss Leah can remember, she has been choreographing and performing dances for her family and friends. In the various festivals Leah has attended, she has won several on-stage scholarships and awards. As a teacher, she has also received recognition at festivals for her choreography. Leah has played several roles in the theatre world, including being a junior assistant director for the children’s production of Jack and the Beanstalk at the Horizon Stage, and she has danced, acted, and helped choreograph dances in her school’s Cinderella and The Aristocats musical theatre productions.
Miss Leah has always wanted to teach dance, and, at 10 years old, she was given the opportunity to assistant teach in various dance classes, and now, she is super excited to be moving into her seventh year of teaching! A memorable start to her dance teaching journey was attending a dance teacher convention in Indianapolis in 2017. Leah has completed her Acrobatic Arts Preschool and Level 1 Certifications as well as her Level 1 Dance Teacher & Practitioner Training at a workshop conducted by Lisa Howell, a physiotherapist who has trained extensively in rehabilitating dancers. In the Spring of 2022, she completed her Teacher Training in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), designed to help dancers improve their overall dance technique using exciting, revolutionary methods.
Leah has participated in several online dance teacher training courses with incredible dance teachers from across the world to learn even more about the broad and diverse world of dance. Leah loves dancing and working with kids and is beyond excited to be sharing her passion for dance with her students! To her, it feels like an absolute dream come true!
