FOR ALL DANCERS:
NO NECKLACES, BRACELETS, or DANGLY EARRINGS are to be worn to class. These can be dangerous to the dancers themselves, and too often, these are left behind and get lost, which just causes unhappy kids!
HAIR – Long hair MUST be tied back for ALL CLASSES – dancers will be given a rubber elastic to use if they have forgotten a hair tie. For shorter hair, please just be sure hair is off the face – barrettes or headbands are perfect!
All dancers should have a dedicated dance bag with their dance shoes, a water bottle, extra hair elastics, and anything else they need for class each week.
****FOR DANCERS WEARING PANTS**** For our younger dancers, please choose pants without pockets (or stitch them closed) so dancers can’t put their hands in their pockets and risk falling without having their hands to protect them.
REGULAR SEASON CLASSES
**For ideas of what we consider “Class Wear”, please see the pictures at the bottom of the page.** Class wear for dancers in Shorter Session classes is listed near the bottom of this page.
CLASS WEAR for Preschool Classes
BOPPIN’ BABES; TWISTIN’ TOTS – Dancers are asked to wear comfy clothes they can move in freely – leggings or sweat pants, and a tank top or t-shirt are fine. If dancers want, they are welcome to wear actual dancewear as well – bodysuit and tights, or some other cute dance outfit! (No dresses/skirts longer than knee length.) For footwear – clean, non-marking, indoor running shoes, socks with grips on the bottom, or true ballet slippers (pink for girls, black for boys). Parents or guardians dancing with their kiddos can come dressed however they want – just smiles and a willingness to be goofy are required! (If wearing shoes, please have ones that are never worn outside and that have a non-marking sole.)
PRESCHOOL CREATIVE MOVEMENT – Dancers are encouraged to wear dance clothes that make them feel like they want to dance! They can wear a bodysuit and tights, or a tank top/t-shirt/dance top and leggings or shorts is fine too. Hair should be tied back, off the face.
Shoes – PINK, leather ballet slippers for girls; BLACK ballet or jazz shoes for boys
PRESCHOOL TAP/HIP HOP – Dancers are encouraged to wear dance clothes that make them feel like they want to dance! They can wear a bodysuit and tights, or a tank top/t-shirt/dance top and leggings or shorts is great too! Hair should be tied back, off the face.
Shoes – TAN tap shoes for girls; BLACK lace-up tap shoes for boys; OPTIONAL for the Hip Hop part of class: clean, white-soled running shoes (any colour) that the dancers can put on by themselves, but dancers can also choose to just go barefoot
PRESCHOOL ACRO – Clothes need to be tight fitting – bodysuits/biketards are recommended or leggings/dance shorts and a dance top! Clothing must have no zippers or buttons so no one gets scratched when spotting. No shoes are required – dancers will go barefoot. Hair must be tied back in a low ponytail, low bun, or braids. Please don’t put the ponytail right at the top of the head or it may hurt when going upside down.
PRESCHOOL BALLET – Girls – a bodysuit – any colour or style – with a bathing suit style cut at the leg, pink ballet tights, and pink, leather ballet slippers. A chiffon, dance skirt (any colour), will also be needed. (See picture at bottom of page for appropriate skirt length.) Hair should be up. Boys – a t-shirt and pants/shorts and black ballet shoes.

(Please see top of page for CLASS WEAR REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL DANCERS, and lower down for SHOE REQUIREMENTS for each class.)
ACRO – Clothes need to be tight fitting – bodysuits/biketards are recommended or leggings/dance shorts and a tight-fitting dance top. Clothing must have no zippers or buttons so no one gets scratched when spotting. No shoes are required – dancers will go barefoot. Hair must be tied back in a low ponytail, low bun, or braids. Please don’t put the ponytail right at the top of the head or it may hurt when going upside down.
BALLET – Female dancers need to wear a bodysuit of their choice of colour and style, ballet-pink dance tights, and pink, leather ballet slippers. Up until Level 3, (at this level and beyond, this is optional) a short, chiffon ballet skirt (see picture below for correct length) is required to help the dancers learn some of their arm positions. If dancers want to wear tight dance shorts over their bodysuit, that is fine. Male dancers need to wear a t-shirt, black shorts or full length pants, and black ballet slippers. (For BALLET TECHNIQUE classes, the items listed for regular Ballet classes are ideal; however, dancers can wear fitted dance shorts/leggings and a fitted top, if they prefer. The clothing still needs to be tight-fitting, so we can help dancers with proper body alignment, posture, etc.)
BALLET SKIRTS – See-through chiffon material only.
See picture near bottom of page to see the length
needed. (We have new skirts for sale at the studio.)

Other than for Hip Hop, sweatpants are not acceptable, as the teachers need to see the form of the dancers’ legs.
